Check-Out: All library materials can be checked out for 21 days or three weeks. Three renewals are allowed, except if another patron has a hold on the item. Items may also be renewed and placed on hold online through the Missouri Evergreen App.
-One week after materials are due, patrons receive an automated notice by email, phone, or letter.
MOREnet Services: Through MOREnet, we have access to research databases for students of all ages. We now also have access to e-books and audiobooks. The e-books and audiobooks are free, and there is no waiting list to use them. Navigate to Library Resources on our website and click Online Resources to access these services.
eBooks and Audiobooks: Our library belongs to the Missouri Libraries 2 Go (Libby) for downloadable eBooks and audiobooks. Patrons will need a valid, up-to-date library card to use these platforms. If you need help accessing these apps, call the library at 573-769-2830 for information.
Graphic Novels, Manga, and Picture Book eBooks: Comics Plus gives you instant access to thousands of digital comics, graphic novels, and manga with your library card. Titles are always available with no holds or wait times, so you can start reading right away. Browse a wide range of genres for all ages and enjoy unlimited reading on your phone, tablet, or computer.
Reading Challenges: Beanstack is a user-friendly platform that makes it easy for readers of all ages to track their reading and participate in library programs. Log books, minutes, or activities, complete challenges, and earn digital badges as you reach your goals. Through Beanstack, our library offers engaging reading challenges throughout the year to help build strong reading habits and encourage lifelong learning. Sign up, start logging your reading, and be part of our community of readers.
Online Card Catalog: The Marion County Library Sub-District # 1 is completely automated, and you may search for materials by title, subject, or author. The same searches are available through the website.
Homebound Program: Please contact the library for the delivery of library materials regularly to persons who are permanently or temporarily homebound.
Programs: Our library offers a wide variety of programs for all ages, including Book Talk discussions, Adult Crafts and Socials, Story Time for children, Lego Club, and much more. Large Print Books: Our library maintains a collection of non-fiction and fiction books in large print format.
Fishing Poles: The Missouri Department of Conservation has given the library fishing poles and small tackle boxes to be checked out by our patrons. Stop in and get one or two today!
